Rugby League and Union legend Jason Robinson starred last night at the first event of the year in Manchester. Staged at the Restaurant Bar and Grill in the city centre, the three course dinner was followed by a breathtakingly honest account by the England world cup winner of his difficult childhood, breakthrough into the iconic Wigan Rugby League team and then move to Clive Woodward’s union team that became world champions. He received a standing ovation at the end.
We also raised funds for the Hunslet Club, a local sports club close to Robinson’s heart that gives underprivileged kids a chance in life through sport. Big thanks to Jura for sponsoring the event and providing a beautiful coffee machine to a competition winner.
